Cathy Bryan, RN
 
 

Cathy brings a true clinical focus to the WayPoint team as an RN with over 30 years of clinical expertise and over 15 years in clinical software development and data mining.  This has resulted in a broad base of experience using clinical data to inform quality outcomes and clinical decisions.  A snapshot of her areas of expertise include the following:

  • Clinical software development and deployment into a wide range of provider practice settings
  • Experience with multiple EMR systems and platforms
  • First hand knowledge of the challenges and nuances of EMR data capture and extraction
  • Quality metric development, reporting, and analysis
  • Provider engagement and ‘buy-in’ of quality programs and initiatives
  • Process workflow and change management within provider organizations
  • Clinical liaison for incorporating clinical goals into the larger organizational objectives and initiatives
  • Research project collaboration and management
  • Policy and program development

As Managing Director of DI Consulting, LLC for the past 2 years and Co-Founder and Chief Clinical Officer at QED Clinical, Inc., d/b/a CINA for the 10 years prior, Cathy has worked specifically in the areas of:

  • Clinical consulting and quality program development for ACO’s
  • Oversight of all clinical operations and client facing activities for a rapidly growing clinical software firm
  • Management and direction for all data mining, mapping and standardization processes from over 15 different ambulatory EMR’s into a common data repository
  • Use and integration of paid claims and pharmacy fulfillment data with clinical (EMR) data for use in quality metric reporting
  • Development of clinical decision support algorithms based on national and specialty society guidelines
  • Led efforts for successful reporting to CMS’ PQRI / PQRS quality programs
  • Assisted practices in meeting Meaningful Use, Patient Centered Medical Home, and Bridges to Excellence reporting criteria
  • Served as a research collaborator and Co-Investigator on federally funded research grants focused on practice based research
  • Policy and procedure development activities for a provider based ambulatory infusion services company
  • Led successful JCAHO, CARF and COLA accreditation activities

Over the past 20 years, Cathy has been a presenter at a many industry conferences and has been an author and co-author on several publications in peer-reviewed journals.  Cathy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University and her Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Cathy lives in Dallas with her husband, 2 dogs and a cat, and enjoys having her 3 grown children stop by on a regular basis.  Cathy is active in her church and spends much of her volunteer energy on various efforts focused on urban renewal in Dallas.
